WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Bidding is underway for hundreds of snowmobiles, dirbikes, and go-karts that were seized following the investigation into Stanley Pophal.
The first lot includes 150 items that were purchased with investor funds. Bidding remains open until Tuesday, August 4th at noon, though bidding may be extended by a few minutes at a time if bids are placed in the final three minutes.
The second auction lot includes about 230 items and opens on August 4th. A third lot is scheduled for August 11th, and includes 155 items.
Bidders must pre-register through Apple Auctioneering Company. Winning bidders must pay within 48 hours, and items must be picked up within 10 days. All items are sold as-is.
On-site viewings for the items will be available during each auction.
Pophal pled guilty to federal wire fraud and money laundering charges in mid-June, after investigators discovered that the 64-year-old took more than $14 million from 190 people as part of an investment scheme.
He is scheduled for sentencing in September.
