WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The Wausau Ignite have announced that Head Coach Jasmin Estrada will return for a third season in 2027.
Estrada guided the team to a second-place finish in 2026 and a spot in the league championship series, where Wausau fell to Madison two games to none.
The St. Cloud, Minnesota, native is the only head coach in team history. In two seasons, she’s guided the Ignite to a record of 33-51, including playoffs.
In addition to her duties with the Ignite, she will spend the 2027 college softball season as an assistant with Division II Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD.
Under her direction, the Ignite sent four players to the inaugural Northwoods League Softball All-Star Game, collected four post-season all-star awards, a Rawlings Hitting Award, and a Rawlings Finest in the Field Award.
The 2027 Northwoods League softball schedule will be announced later this year. As it stands, all six teams will return with no planned expansion.
