Jacob Turner
STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — Bond has been set for the Stevens Point man accused of setting fire to a downtown apartment unit.
Jacob Turner is being held on a $50,000 cash bond after investigators say he lit his apartment on fire last Friday. He now faces a single count of felony arson.
The 23-year-old reportedly told investigators he had just received notice that he would be evicted from his unit, so he set several papers ablaze.
Crews from multiple agencies responded to the incident. No firefighters were injured; one resident was treated for smoke inhalation.

Bond conditions include a full no-contact order with the building at 920 Main Street. However, if he posts the cash, he can return once to retrieve personal items. He also has a no-contact order with three people, identified by their initials.
Further court action is scheduled for October 19th. Should Turner be found guilty at trial, he would face up to 25 years in prison plus extended supervision.
