Paul Hardwick
WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU) — A 55-year-old Nekoosa man will spend the next seven years in prison for providing the drugs that led to an overdose death in 2025.
Paul Hardwick was sentenced on Thursday; a judge also ordered ten years on extended supervision and court costs. He was given credit for about 5.5 months already served in jail.
Charges stem from the death of Sara Wilkinson in April 2025. She was found unresponsive in Hardwick’s house, and life-saving measures proved unsuccessful. A search of the home turned up multiple illicit drugs.
Terms of his sentence also include a no-contact order with Wilkinson’s family, restitution, and absolute sobriety.
The sentence stems from a no contest plea to one count of homicide by delivery of drugs. Multiple other charges were then dismissed but read into the record, including possession of cocaine and THC and bail jumping.
Hardwick has indicated a desire to appeal the sentence.
