WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — There will be no Wausau Events Concert on the Square this week.
Organizers of the downtown concert series have canceled tonight’s show featuring Dig Deep due to the threat of severe and potentially dangerous weather, according to a press release from Executive Director Brooklyn Hess.
“Whenever severe weather is a possibility, we closely monitor conditions and consult a variety of trusted weather resources before making any decisions,” said Hess. “While rescheduling an event is never easy, ensuring the safety of everyone involved is our top responsibility.”
Hess says the decision was made after consulting with multiple meteorologists and local emergency management officials, with the safety of everyone involved at the forefront.
The make-up date will be September 2nd.
