GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The Green Bay Packers and one of their top receivers have agreed to a new long-term deal.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Packers and Christian Watson agreed to a four-year, $110.5 million deal, with $31 million paid at signing. This deal makes Watson the highest-paid receiver in franchise history, surpassing Davante Adams’ four-year $58 million deal with $30 million guaranteed back in 2017.
This also marks the Packers’ second significant extension with a key receiver in recent weeks, following their agreement with Jayden Reed on a three-year, $50.25 million contract, with $20 million fully guaranteed.
Watson’s new annual pay of $27.6 million is more than that of Bills receiver DJ Moore, Lions receiver Jameson Williams, and Eagles receiver DeVonta Smith, all of whom received extensions and reworked deals over the last year.
The Packers are heading into the 2026 season with a young receiver room, featuring top picks like Matthew Golden and Savion Williams, and this deal will require Watson to step up and be a reliable target for Jordan Love after catching 35 passes for 611 yards and six touchdowns in 2025.
