Scott Allen
STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — Portage County has hired a new Planning Director.
Supervisors approved the hire of Scott Allen in mid-May after the previous Director was let go in March. Allen will oversee all aspects of Planning, Zoning, Land and Water Conservation, Geographic Information Services, On-Site Sanitary Waste, Water Resources, and Economic Development for the County.
Allen currently serves as Executive Director of the West Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission in Eau Claire. The agency plans the physical, social, and economic development of a seven-county area, including Barron, Chippewa, Clark, Dunn, Eau Claire, Polk, and St. Croix Counties.
His resume also includes five years as the Community Development Director for the City of Eau Claire and 15 years in planning and development for the city of Blue Springs, Missouri. He will officially begin his duties with Portage County in mid-June.
