Emily McColley
WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Wausau woman is accused of her 7th OWI after a complaint about her behavior outside the downtown Kwik Trip in late April.
Emily McColley is accused of driving while under the influence of drugs after officers caught up to her outside a vehicle that was double-parked at the Grand Avenue store. According to the criminal complaint, they noticed several signs of impairment, including slurred and difficult-to-follow speech, constant body movement, and confusion and disorientation.
Officers eventually took her to the ground to restrain her and booked her into the Marathon County Jail on suspicion of OWI. They also obtained a search warrant for a blood draw, the results of which are pending.
She blew a 0.0% on a breathalyzer at the jail, though officers said they felt they had enough evidence to suggest she was driving while under the influence of other drugs.
Her previous OWI convictions date back to 2009 in La Crosse County. She also has multiple OWI convictions from Marathon County between 2012 and 2022.
The 47-year-old is being held on a $20,000 cash bond. A review hearing is scheduled for May 20th.
