MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) — A Marshfield home was damaged in a fire on Wednesday.
Marshfield Fire and Rescue was called to the home on Cedar Avenue at noon for a fire in a trash can. By the time crews got there, it had spread to the back of the house.
Initial reports indicated that no one was home at the time, but crews found one person sleeping inside. They were able to get out without any injuries.
Crews were on the scene for about two hours. The fire caused significant damage to the backside of the house. Smoke and water damage occurred throughout the home as well.
No injuries were reported. Crews from the Hewitt Fire Department also responded, along with Marshfield Police, Wood County Sheriff’s Office, WE Energies, and Marshfield Utilities.
