WESTON, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — Riverside Elementary School, which was damaged in the EF-3 tornado that tore through Marathon County earlier this month, is set to bring students back next week.
Students will continue to learn at the Greenheck Turner Community Center through Thursday, April 30. Staff will then use Friday, May 1st as a relocation day, with students and families invited back to the school for a walkthrough that afternoon.
District officials are reminding families that, even though the school will not look much different, the surrounding neighborhood received significant damage.
Officials added that a full-service disaster recovery and property restoration company is on-site this week to professionally clean all indoor and outdoor spaces, ensuring that every corner of the building and grounds is safe and ready for students to return.
