Jason Tourtillott
WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU) — A man found guilty of killing his father in 2021 will serve 22 years in prison for one count of reckless homicide.
Jason Tourtillott was handed the sentence this afternoon after pleading no contest to one count of first-degree reckless homicide this summer. The 28-year-old killed Thomas Tourtillott in July 2021. Thomas was found dead in his home after a report of an unresponsive person.
Jason was immediately named as a person of interest but wasn’t arrested until January 2025. It’s unclear what evidence led authorities to issue a warrant.
His sentence also includes 18 years on extended supervision and treatment or counseling deemed necessary by his agent. He will also be ordered to maintain absolute sobriety and pay court costs.
Jason was given credit for just over one year already served in jail. Court records show he did address the court before the sentence was handed down.
