KRONENWETTER, WI (WSAU) — The Marathon County Clerk’s office is helping the Village of Kronenwetter prepare for the 2026 Midterm Election, including the distribution of absentee ballots.
According to a joint statement issued on Wednesday, County Clerk Kim Trueblood and her staff began distributing absentee ballots on September 17th. Anyone who has received one should know that it is valid, even if it didn’t come from the Village Clerk’s office.
“I’m pleased to share that absentee ballots for Village of Kronenwetter residents that had an absentee ballot request on file were mailed on September 17, in accordance with the statutory deadline,” said Trueblood. “We understand that residents may have questions due to the Village Clerk vacancy, and I want to reassure voters that their ballots remain fully valid. This inter-governmental collaboration underscores our shared commitment to protecting election integrity and ensuring that Village residents have uninterrupted access to safe and reliable voting options.”
Kronenwetter has been without a permanent clerk since Jeniffer Poyer resigned on September 4th. Village leaders have posted the position and are working with Trueblood’s office to make sure all election staff are trained.
We are very appreciative of the assistance provided by Clerk Trueblood’s staff,” shared Village of Kronenwetter Administrator James Davel. “While the recruitment for a Village Clerk is ongoing, our team is working with the County Clerk’s Office to ensure all necessary training and preparations are complete for the November 3rd election.”
