TOWN OF FRANZEN, WI (WSAU) — One person died in a two-vehicle crash in the Marathon County Town of Franzen on Friday afternoon.
First responders were called to the intersection of County Roads C and I at about 1:00 PM. They found 53-year-old Jennifer C. Lemmer of Iola trapped inside one of the vehicles. She was extracted and pronounced dead at the scene.
A 58-year-old man in the second vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Officers are still investigating the cause of the crash, and no further information has been released.
Responding agencies included the Wisconsin State Patrol, Shawano County Sheriff’s Office, first responders from Wittenberg and Hatley, and the Marathon County Medical Examiner. Future updates will be provided on the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.
