MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) — A 26-year-old Marshfield woman was taken into custody on Thursday after a report of domestic disturbance.
Officers were called to a home on West 5th Street at about 6:45 PM. About 45 minutes after they arrived, they learned that a woman inside the home was armed and called for a Special Response Team.
After two hours of negotiations, including the use of a K9 officer, the woman surrendered without incident. She was taken to a local hospital for medical clearance, then booked into the Wood County Jail.
Officers are recommending charges for false imprisonment, strangulation, battery, and disorderly conduct. All charges carry domestic abuse modifiers.
Her name was not released. Officers emphasized that the incident was isolated and there is no danger to the public.
