MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Brewers’ top two prospects will once again be teammates.
According to a post on X from the team, the Brewers are promoting shortstop Luis Peña from High-A Appleton to AA Biloxi for the team’s upcoming playoff run after they won the Southern League’s First-Half South Division title.
Pena, 19, will join the Brewers’ top prospect and the top overall prospect in baseball, infielder Jesus Made, making them teammates for the first time in almost a year when they shared an infield in Appleton last summer.
Pena is hitting .305 with 24 RBIs this season with the Timber Rattlers but missed games after he collapsed in the dugout and was hospitalized after overheating back in April. He met with a neurologist for further evaluation, who stated that all his tests came back normal.
The Biloxi Shuckers will now arguably be the most talented minor league team in baseball, as fellow top-ranked players such as third baseman Andrew Fischer, outfielder Josh Adamczewski, pitcher Bishop Letson, and first baseman Blake Burke will all share a field with Pena and Made.
