EDGAR, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — Authorities are asking for the public’s help finding 20 steers that were rustled from a farm near Edgar.
WAOW TV reports the cattle, weighing about 800 pounds each, were stolen sometime between 8:00 PM on July 7 and the morning of July 8 from Kingdom Haven Farms on Highway 97, located between Highway N and Blueberry Road.
The stolen group includes Holstein and Holstein/Angus cross steers. They have white ear tags, numbered between 100 and 300.
Officials are asking anyone who was traveling on Highway 97 or surrounding roads that night to come forward if they noticed anything unusual, such as livestock being loaded, unfamiliar trailers or suspicious vehicles. Officers are also canvassing the area for surveillance footage.
Anyone with information is asked to contact local law enforcement. Authorities are also asking farmers, livestock haulers, sale barns, feedlots, and livestock dealers throughout Wisconsin and neighboring states to share the information.
Officials estimate that the value of the cattle is around $50,000
