Timothy Anker
WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Marathon County man accused of killing his brother made his first court appearance on homicide charges on Friday.
Timothy Anker waived a reading of the complaint and his right to a speedy trial. The 58-year-old is accused of stabbing Thomas Anker during an argument in April, in what investigators have called an act of “domestic violence.”
He was arrested at the scene after first responders arrived. They attempted life-saving measures, but Thomas died at the scene.
Since then, Timothy has been held in the Marathon County jail on a separate charge for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Both cases are expected to move forward at the same time.
Timothy Anker is being held on a $500,000 bond with several conditions, including no contact with his family and absolute sobriety from drugs and alcohol. Should he post the cash, he would also need to surrender his passport and would be prohibited from leaving the state of Wisconsin.
Further court action is scheduled for June 16th. Anker has not entered a plea to the charges, and no trial dates have been set.
