WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – Fetch Foster and Rescue welcomed 25 of the 1500 Beagles released from Ridglan Farms. The beagles are receiving around-the-clock care while awaiting medical treatment and neutering. Many of the dogs had never worn collars and were identified only by numbers tattooed into their ears and groin areas.
Several beagles already have approved homes waiting once they are medically cleared. Families adopting the dogs will receive counseling on the rehabilitation process ahead.
Every beagle placed through Fetch Foster and Rescue will receive a free tracking collar for six months to help ensure a safe transition. Families will also have access to a trainer available 24 hours a day during the first 30 days to help the dogs adjust to life as pets.
The rescue is accepting adoption applications, but the dogs will not be ready to go home for some time as their recovery must come first. A handful of beagles still need sponsors.
Sponsorships are $1,000 and directly support medical care, rehabilitation, transportation, supplies and ongoing support. Anyone interested can email fetchfosterfundraising@gmail.com for more information.
Updates on the beagles’ progress can be followed through the Fetch Foster and Rescue Facebook page.
