MERRILL, WI (WSAU) — The 26-year-old Lincoln County man accused of killing his father in the spring of 2025 will undergo court-ordered medical treatment before he is deemed competent for trial.
Court records show Austin Stevenson, who was deemed not competent for trial last year, remains as such. Earlier this week, a judge granted a petition for “involuntary administration of medications.
Stevenson is accused of killing his father, 48-year-old John Stevenson, in March of 2025. Investigators found his body inside the home, with two gunshot wounds to the head.
Austin faces one count of intentional homicide and one count of burglary. The most serious charge carries an automatic life sentence with only the possibility of parole up for discussion.
A not guilty plea was entered for Stevenson last spring. He was deemed not competent for trial last October.
No further court action was immediately scheduled.
