FREEMONT, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – One person has died after a two-vehicle crash on US Highway 10 in the Town of Fremont, in Waupaca County.
The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office says it happened around 10:30am. They say a car was heading northbound on Old Highway 49 at Sunset Curve and was struck by an eastbound truck and trailer traveling on US Highway 10.
They say the driver in the car needed to be extricated and was given life-saving measures, but the person was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck and trailer was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash slowed traffic in the area for several hours.
The names of those involved are not being released while the crash is under investigation.
