WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU) — The City of Wisconsin Rapids has lost its Clerk.
According to a Facebook post, Jennifer Gossik died just hours after leading the City through the Midterm Election on Tuesday. “Once again helping ensure our election would be conducted flawlessly – a reflection of the dedication, professionalism, and commitment she brought to her work every day,” the post read.
Gossik has served as Clerk since December 2018, when the City Council appointed her after Paul Przybelski resigned. She went on to win a special election for the position in April of 2019, and continued to win re-election in the years that followed.

She was appointed under former Mayor Zach Vruwink, who noted that her experience as a poll worker and in customer service made her an ideal fit for the position.
A cause of death was not given. Gossik will be remembered during a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, November 11th. She will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery later that day. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, November 10th.
