Enhnort Leonardo Araujo Valero
WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Chicago man accused of ATM jackpotting and possession of child pornography in two Wisconsin counties could soon have a resolution in one.
Enhnort Araujo-Valero is scheduled for a plea and sentencing hearing on January 7 in Marathon County, covering three open cases. That includes one count of possession of child pornography and two counts each of interference with an ATM and fraud against a financial institution.
The 28-year-old is accused of planting electronic devices into multiple ATMs across Central Wisconsin, then using a cellphone to trick the machines into dispensing money without a legitimate transaction, a technique known as “jackpotting.”
Officers caught up to him in December 2025 after an alert from an ATM on Schofield Avenue in Weston. Once on site, they found Araujo-Valero sitting in a vehicle with a laptop and a stack of $20 bills. He was jailed and charged later that month.

Evidence later tied him to an additional jackpotting case in Marathon County and a similar case in Waupaca County. A count for possession of child pornography was added in May 2026. He has not yet formally entered a plea.
He faces up to 21 years in prison on the felony counts in Marathon County. Further court dates in Waupaca County have not been scheduled.
