MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Bucks built a 19 point halftime lead and held off a Washington rally for a 133-120 win over the Wizards to open the NBA regular season on Wednesday night at Fiserv Forum.
The game marked Khris Middleton’s first visit to Milwaukee since the Bucks traded him to the Wizards last season. He led Washington with 23 points.
Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with 37 points, 14 rebounds and five assists in 27 minutes. Gary Trent Jr. had 17 points. Kyle Kuzma had 12.
Myle Turner had 11 points, eight rebounds and five assists in his Bucks debut. AJ Green & Taurean Prince also had 11 while Kevin Porter Jr. added 10.
12 players scored in a balanced Bucks attack. Porter Jr left the game with an injury after only playing nine minutes. His status will be re-evaluated today.
The Bucks, 1-0, will travel to Toronto for a game Friday night.
