WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the loss of one of its police dogs, Radar.
In a Facebook post, they share a message from one of their original K-9 handlers, Lt. Cory Gladden. He wrote, in part:
“From the moment we became partners in 2013, K9 Radar wasn’t just a working dog; he was family. For seven unforgettable years on the street and every day since, he stood by my side with unwavering loyalty, courage, and love. Together, we faced challenges, celebrated victories, and forged a bond that went far beyond the job.
Radar taught me more than I ever thought a dog could. Through his steady presence, he showed me the true meaning of humility, patience, and unconditional love. He made me a better deputy, a stronger leader, a more loving husband, and a more patient father. His lessons weren’t spoken; they were lived every single day.”
The sheriff’s office also posted a tribute video to Radar.
