Wisconsin Badgers
MADISON, WI (WSAU) – The crowd was chanting “Fire Fickell” at halftime of a Wisconsin football loss, 27-10, to Maryland. The student section had emptied out early in the second half.
Luke Fickell is 15-15 as Wisconsin’s coach. His teams have lost their last 7 games against Division I opponents.
The Badgers played a poor first half, including a blocked punt and a blocked field goal. They trailed 20-0 at halftime.
Maryland’s freshman quarterback Malik Washington threw two touchdown passes and ran for another.
The Badgers fall to 2-2 for the season, while Maryland improves to 4-0. Saturday’s game was the Big Ten opener for both teams.
Wisconsin is off next week, and will play Michigan on October 4th.
