STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point held the State of the University address, as students prepare to re-enter the classrooms for another academic year.
Interim Chancellor, Pratima Gandhi delivered the address, highlighting the importance of recruiting and retaining the student population, capital projects on campus, including $98 million towards the renovation and addition to Sentry Hall, and the opening of a new health and wellness center.
Gandhi also emphasized the importance of strengthening community relationships and making student success a priority.
“We will not only navigate the challenges ahead, but emerge as a model for what a modern public university can and should be,” said Gandhi.
UW-Stevens Point students have begun moving in and classes will begin on Tuesday, September 2.
