MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — The red-hot Milwaukee Brewers hammered the Pittsburgh Pirates 14-0 on Tuesday night at American Family Field. It was the 11th win in a row for Milwaukee.
It’s the second time this season that the Brewers have won 11 games in a row. They are only the 3rd team since World War II to accomplish that feat. They are the first team in the National League since the 1935 Chicago Cubs to do it.
Milwaukee hit five homers in the win, scoring runs in six different innings including six runs in the sixth.
Sal Frelick led off the first inning with a solo shot. He finished with two hits, three runs scored and two RBIs. Christian Yelich had three hits and three RBIs including a two-run homer. Brice Turang, Andrew Vaughn and Caleb Durbin also went deep. William Contreras stayed hot with two hits and two RBIs. The Brewers banged out 15 hits in the win.
Freddy Peralta picked up his 14th win with six shutout innings. He allowed just three hits, striking out seven and walking one.
Milwaukee, now 75-44, will play the Pirates in day baseball today. Pre game show at 12:35 on WSAU.
