MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – It was a successful return from the injured list for Brewers pitcher Wade Miley. He threw five scoreless innings and allowed just two hits in a 5-0 win over the Pirates.
Miley had a 3-2 record with a 3.67 ERA before going on the IL because of a muscle strain. “I thought he was maybe a little amped up in the first inning, but then he really settled in and pitched really, really well,” Brewers manager Craig Counsell said.
The Brewers are back in 1st place by a game and a half after snapping a six-game losing streak on Friday night,
Joey Weimer homered for the second straight game.
Freddie Peralta (5-6) pitches Sunday as the Brewers play for a sweep. Game coverage begins at 12:35pm on WSAU.
