IOWA CITY, IOWA (WSAU) — The Wisconsin mens basketball team beat the Iowa Hawkeyes 78-75 in overtime on Sunday night at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
The Hawkeyes hit a three pointer at the buzzer to tie the game at 60. The Badgers were down three in the OT before rallying and Iowa missed the last shot at the buzzer.
Tyler Wahl was 9-14 from the field for 21 points including seven in OT. Connor Essegian had 12 and six rebounds. Steven Crowl had 12 points, six rebounds and seven assists. Chucky Hepburn stuffed the stat sheet with 11 points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals.
The Badgers, now 8-2, 2-0 in Big Ten, have three non-conference games to finish out the calender year all at the Kohl Center. This Thursday they host Lehigh. Friday December 3rd they play Grambling State and then it’s Western Michigan on December 30th. The next Big Ten game is January 3rd at home vs Minnesota.
The Wisconsin womens basketball team beat St. Thomas 72-64 on Sunday afternoon at the Kohl Center.
Brooke Schramek led the Badgers with 18 points. Julie Pospisilova had 14.
The Badgers, now 3-8, will play at UW-Green Bay on Wednesday.
