GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) — The Green Bay Packers activated three players off the physically unable to perform list (PUP) on Sunday.
Elgton Jenkins, Christian Watson and Robert Tonyan were brought back and started doing some individual work at practice.
They will now ramp up with the hope being that any or all of them would be available in Week 1 when the Packers open the season September 11th at Minnesota.
Tonyan has been out since tearing his ACL during week 8 of the 2021 season. Jenkins went down with an ACL tear during Week 11 last year. Watson is a rookie and underwent a minor procedure on his knee after working during mini-camp and OTAs.
Green Bay also signed a new kicker over the weekend after Gabe Brkic injured his hamstring. Brkic, who was working in place of the injured Mason Crosby, was waived.
The Packers brought in Ramiz Ahmed who hasn’t kicked in an NFL game since 2020 but played this past season in the USFL. He made 14 of 22 field goals for the Pittsburgh Maulers.
