SAN FRANCISCO, Ca (WSAU) — The San Francisco Giants hit three home runs of Josh Hader in the 9th inning including a walk-off grand slam from Mike Yastrzemski to rally for an 8-5 win over the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday night.
The Giants trailed 5-2 when Joey Bart led off the ninth with a solo homer . With one out, Darin Ruf homered to pull the Giants within one. Austin Salter singled and was almost picked off first but Rowdy Tellez threw high to second base. A hit batsman and a bloop single loaded the bases for Yastrzemski who nailed a 96 MPH slider for the game winner.
The Brewers scored all five of their runs in the 5th inning. Andrew McCutchen drove in three with a bases loaded double. Luis Urias had the other RBI.
Brandon Woodruff started for Milwaukee and went 5 2/3 innings giving up two runs on five hits. Hader drops to 0-4 with the loss.
The Brewers are now 50-41 and will face the Giants again today…pre game show at 5:40 on WSAU.
