MOSINEE, WI (WSAU) — Don’t be alarmed if you see smoke coming from the Central Wisconsin Airport today.
Fire crews will be holding a live burn training this morning and afternoon, according to a release from the Airport.
Exercises will include training with live fire on a simulated aircraft fuselage. Flames will be noticeable from Highway 153 throughout the day, especially between 2:00-4:00 PM.
Airport officials don’t anticipate that the training will have any impact on the daily flight schedule in and out of the facility.
The training is required to allow the airport to keep its Class 1 certification from the Federal Aviation Administration.
