AUGUSTA, Ga (WSAU) — The #1 player in the world tamed a windy Augusta National Golf Course on Friday. Scottie Scheffler fired a five under 67 and now leads by five strokes heading into the weekend.
His 5 under 67 matched the low score of the day and his five shot lead after two rounds ties a Masters record. The last four players who had a lead that big went on to win.
The closest challengers going into Saturday are defending champ Hideki Matsuyama, Shane Lowry, Sungjae Im and Charl Schwartzel.
